The measure comes as part of the enactment of Law 14790 (formerly Bill 3626/2023), which regulates iGaming in the country. The verification process will require biometric data (face) and documents from the user. The decision is necessary to restrict undesirable individuals from gambling and minimize fraud in the industry.
Several international companies specializing in KYC have already come forward. But given the intricacies of local bureaucracy (for example, Brazil has over 3,500 identity documents), the clear favorite is local provider CAF in partnership with GeoComply. The latter boasts of serving DraftKings, BetMGM and FanDuel, as well as other major non-gambling companies.
