In the following lines we will introduce you to Anton Stoychev, who is the CEO of the Legit.Casino project.
Tell us more about yourself, Mr Stoychev, and your experience in the casino industry.
Hello, my name is Anton Stoychev and I was born in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria. I have been gambling for 17 years and I dare say that I have a lot of experience in the industry. My interest in betting has not diminished over the years, but my attitude towards the gambling industry has changed. In the beginning I used to bet to experience the thrill of risk, whereas today I enjoy analysing and evaluating gambling sites more.
What kind of gambling have you been involved in?
At the beginning of my gambling career, I was only interested in sports betting on football, tennis and basketball. In those years, gambling was not legalised in Bulgaria and all sites operated illegally. I was in my early 20s and had registered with over 50 bookmakers. The same sites distributed weekly bonuses to their customers and I took advantage of this through the method of matched betting. My maths knowledge helped me a lot and I was often able to outsmart the bookies.
How did you decide to found Legit.Casino?
After years of experience in the gambling industry, it was the most normal extension of my career to share my experience on a website. I decided to create something different that would review casino sites completely independently. I was tired of coming across sites where all reviews are the same and all casinos are 100% legal. I told myself that people all over the world deserve a site where they can get a truly legitimate casino without being lied to.
Are you working alone on the project or do you have a team of people?
The Legit.Casino project is quite big and there is no way I can do it alone. We are a team of dedicated casino specialists who review online casinos on a daily basis. We do between 200 and 250 reviews per month and each casino is rated using our new, unique tool – the Legitometer. This tool takes into account over 12 factors on which we rate each casino.
Tell us more about Legit.Casino and its Legitometer tool.
As I said, the Legit.Casino project was born in my head after many experiences with problematic bookmakers and casinos. Hundreds of times I have had headaches with verifications and withdrawals. Many times I have found that casinos deliberately delay the verification and withdrawal process just so you can’t cash out your winnings with them. This is an extremely unfair practise and I decided to create Legit.Casino. A site that evaluates various criteria and gives casino players a true assessment of what they can expect from a casino. The Legitometer has 12 factors we look for when evaluating a casino. We check everything in each site’s terms and conditions, and if we find something wrong, we describe it in the review.
Can you tell us more about the factors you monitor through your Legitometer?
Of course, before I tell you about the factors, I want to mention that each factor affects the final LegitoMeter score differently. We don’t place the availability of 24/7 chat support alongside the availability of a license. There’s no way to make every factor the same, so some factors have a stronger impact on our Legitometer. And here they are:
- Availability of a License the availability of a license is not a 100% guarantee that the casino is fair, but still, if the casino doesn’t have a license, then players have no official body to complain to.
- Withdrawal time as I said, we think that the casino keeping funds for too long is an unfair practice for us.
- Payout limit we think it is extremely unfair if the casino has a payout limit. After all a player plays casino games to win as much as possible. Unfortunately, some casinos enforce this type of limit.
- 24/7 Support Having 24/7 support is a good indication that the casino wants to serve its customers well.
- Fair bonus rules Bonuses are the primary way of attracting customers to a casino, and we often notice extremely unfair practices and this factor reflects them.
- Player reviews We review many forums and accumulate the general player rating.
- Fake casino games Unfortunately, some casinos still have fake casino games on their platforms.
- Monthly Withdrawal Limit It’s not pleasant when we win a large amount and the casino turns out to have a very low withdrawal limit. This means that we will be withdrawing for a few months from the casino, which is again an idea to keep the player’s money.
- History of the casino and how old it is Of course, we give a better rating to old casinos that have established themselves as a brand.
- Variety of payment methods Having many payment methods is a prerequisite for a legitimate operator. Why? Because every single payment method requires verification from the company behind the casino. Which in turn leads to confirmation of the owners. This is an essential factor for us.
- Fair terms and conditions Unfair terms such as a withdrawal fee or dozens of times rolling a deposit are reflected through this factor.
- Related casinos from the same owners If the same owners have other casinos that are blacklisted, we reduce the overall rating of the casino.
One last question Mr. Stoychev, is the project finished, or is it still in development?
The project is under development, and we only have 300 online casinos so far. We plan to have 2,000 casinos by the end of 2024, and each one will be evaluated on the above factors. We will not pass any casino by because people need to know the truth about the legitimacy of the platforms. We want to create a better world for all casino players worldwide.
