David Natroshvili, Founder and CEO at SPRIBE, says that rapid growth is not without its challenges but that the success of Aviator has allowed it to attract the best talent in the business
SPRIBE has become a power player provider thanks to the flyaway success of Aviator, but does this present challenges when it comes to scaling the business?
Yes, it does. Every business wants its products and solutions to succeed but when it happens to the extent that we have experienced with Aviator, it can be hard to keep pace. The success of the game has meant having to grow our team at a rapid rate which can be difficult especially when it comes to ensuring we continue to hire the best in the business. We’ve also had to open offices around the world and ensure that everyone, regardless of where they are, feels valued and connected. Since Aviator first hit the market back in 2018, we have gone from a handful of employees based out of a small office in Kyiv, Ukraine to more than 300 employees based out of offices in Kyiv (Ukraine), Tbilisi (Georgia), Warsaw (Poland) locations. And growth shows no signs of slowing down – in Q1 alone we added 31 new members to the team with plenty of roles still to fill.
How do you ensure you attract the best talent to SPRIBE? What do you offer employees that other providers don’t?
The meteoric rise of Aviator – which is played by more than 43 million players at 5,000+ online casinos each month – means that industry talent wants to work for SPRIBE, and we always find the calibre of candidates applying for any given role to be incredibly high. Despite being a large and established business, we’ve kept the attitude and environment of a start-up and people really like that as it means they can come in and make a real impact – we value all input, ideas and feedback and have a very open culture where employees are free to speak their mind. Some of our greatest breakthroughs have come because of this.
On what roles are you focusing your recruitment efforts on right now? Does this change at different moments in the evolution of the business?
We have open roles across all areas of the business from design and engineering to product development, UX and marketing. We are also open to creating positions within the business for truly exceptional candidates or if someone applies for a certain role but we think they will be a better fit in another part of the business. The focus does change from time to time, especially if we are looking to launch a new product or solution that requires additional expertise. This was certainly the case when developing our Broadway platform. But generally speaking, we have a wide range of roles open at any given time.
SPRIBE employs hundreds of people in several offices across the world. How do you make sure each employee feels valued and connected to the business?
It comes down to our company culture and ensuring that there is always an open line of communication between employees, teams and the c-suite. This is why we shifted from being a hybrid working company to being one with staff in offices. The benefits of this are profound, especially when it comes to making employees feel valued and connected to the business. It allows for deeper collaboration, faster problem-solving and more cohesive processes. There are mental health benefits, too, with staff feeling part of a community and not being isolated from their team and the organisation as a whole. Without people, company culture is just a written document and by bringing your people under one roof, it comes to life for the benefit of all.
What can we expect from SPRIBE in the months ahead? Will the organisation continue to grow at break-neck speed?
It’s going to be another big year from SPRIBE. Aviator continues to solidify its position as the number one crash game in the world – more than 350,000 bets are placed on the game every minute – and we have some epic upgrades coming. We are also making strides with Broadway and have plenty of other exciting projects in the works. Of course, we will continue to welcome more talent to the team as we strengthen SPRIBE’s position in the very top tier of the industry.
