Why non-traditional content is now non-negotiable

Corentin Budny, Program Director at Quanta, talks about the aggregator’s latest integration with Clawbuster and why operators must stock non-traditional games if they are to engage the next generation of players

You recently signed a deal with Clawbuster. Tell us more about the partnership.

I can’t tell you how long I spent on Claw machines at the fair when I was a kid, but for sure it triggered some memories when I heard someone had adapted their mechanics onto a casino game.

This makes for a new player experience but with a classic and familiar way of betting, which is key to generating player engagement with never-seen-before mechanics and formats. For Quanta, it’s a great partnership as it brings more innovative content to our platform and allows us to further differentiate from other aggregators in the market.

Is non-traditional content now a must-have for operators and content aggregators such as Quanta?

It is. There are more and more game types, coming from various studios of different shapes and sizes, popular or emerging providers… Players are showing more interest in these games, however it is challenging for operators to keep track of all these integrations and have this exciting content “on time”. And this is where Quanta proudly shows off, we are aiming to always be on top of the trends and be ready for the next hit to shake our industry, by granting a vast and diverse portfolio of content with activation in no time.

How do you identify the most exciting and interesting developers of non-traditional content?

There is always a subjective dimension to selecting which content we want to integrate and which not to. We are all gamblers ourselves, so we try the games, play some bets on them and if the thrill hits us then we start seeing the product from a different point of view. It’s all about this at the end: does the game keep me entertained, am I having fun playing on it? It’s always a mixture of sensations, like how did I feel when the win hit, what did I feel when it didn’t? How are the graphs and sound, how is the overall experience.. And at the end of the day we are doing business, of course the first contact with our potential partners is super important and plays a part in our prioritisation.

What made Clawbuster the right fit for Quanta?

I went for some spins on ClawBass Bonanza and shortly got really entertained may I say. It didn’t take me long to hit the bonus round and discover their Claw mechanic. And that was enough to make me want to spin for some more time. The feature is easy to understand and the hit frequency definitely keeps the player engaged. This is the combo that makes it right for the players, we should never over complicate things, and Clawbuster understood it.

Beyond stocking innovative providers, how does Quanta stand out from other aggregators?

We are in a very competitive landscape, there are more aggregators than I can count now (laughs). We focus on delivering a tailored approach and account management to our partners, while giving them fair commercials. Our objective is to build lifelong partnerships, and is never to make the same margin as the game providers, so regardless of the rates we negotiate with producers we apply our common margin, ensuring a fair price to operators. This does not prevent us from providing quality content and a premium service to our partners. We always undertake the full integration with all providers, giving the operator an access to promotional tools, jackpots, free spins and so on. The objective is kind of giving them a direct integration feeling while covering the technical aspect on our end. We are also really flexible in terms of account management and give operators direct access to our studio partners. Again, my goal is not to handle the game providers’ or the operators’ businesses, but helping them, together, to reach the full potential of our collaboration and ultimately provide the best gaming experience to end users.

What can we expect from Quanta in the months ahead?

We’ve got a really busy few months ahead that will see us onboard even more studios to the Quanta platform. We also have some big-name operator partnerships in the works that will be announced in due course with the team also gearing up for conference season which continues for Quanta at the NEXT Summit in May. The game aggregation space needs disruption and that’s been Quanta’s mission from day one, and we look forward to working with pioneering studios and forward-thinking operators as we continue to build momentum behind the business and ultimately become a major player in the content aggregation and provision space.
